Ondanks aanzienlijke verbetering door de behandeling van paroxysmale nachtelijke hemoglobinurie met complementremmers, bestaat een behoefte aan aanvullende behandelmogelijkheden die minder therapeutische last geven.1–3 Tijdens EHA 2023 presenteerde dr. Alexander Röth (University Hospital Essen, West German Cancer Center, University of Duisburg-Essen, Essen, Duitsland) de resultaten van de COMMODORE 2-studie waarin crovalimab was vergeleken met eculizumab bij deze patiëntengroep ten aanzien van de mate van hemolysecontrole en het vermijden van transfusies.4
