Op 5 april 2018 promoveerde Merel A. Timmer aan de Universiteit van Utrecht op haar proefschrift, getiteld ‘Gewrichten, functioneren en beweeggedrag bij mensen met hemofilie’ onder begeleiding van promotoren prof. dr. R.E.G. Schutgens en prof. C. Veenhof, en copromotor dr. M.F. Pisters. Hieronder zijn de belangrijkste bevindingen uit haar proefschrift beschreven.
