Ibrutinib is een proteïnekinaseremmer die veelvuldig wordt toegepast bij de behandeling van hematologische maligniteiten. Behandeling wordt over het algemeen goed verdragen. Bekende veelvoorkomende bijwerkingen zijn atriumfibrilleren, diarree, bloedingen en infecties. Recentelijk zijn in meerdere ‘case reports’ ook oculaire bijwerkingen en met name uveïtis beschreven. Het is belangrijk om hier als voorschrijver van op de hoogte te zijn, aangezien dit op langere termijn tot blijvende visusproblemen kan leiden.
